OCR: 1970/1971
The course consists of two components: coursework and a final question paper. Candidates are internally assessed through coursework where they are required to demonstrate effective performance and the use of tactics, and to observe the rules and conventions of fourchosen activities (chosen from the following categories: games; athletics; outdoor pursuits; swimming; exercise — eg, weight-training) under applied conditions. Candidates are also required to demonstrate their ability to analyse performance in oneof their chosen activities under applied conditions. The terminal question paper assesses a pupil’s understanding of the three units of the programme of study: factors affecting performance; the relationship between health, fitness and practical activity; risk assessment in physical activity.
