Oxbridge application is undeniably designed for the extremely bright, highly motivated candidate. The competition for places at Oxbridge colleges is particularly stiff. Pupils are strongly advised to listen carefully to the assessment provided by ANR (Oxford) and SCA (Cambridge) and the appropriate Heads of Department before commiting themselves to an application. More information is available in the After 'A' Levels Booklet.
All prospective candidates should consult the Oxford or Cambridge Undergraduate Prospectuses available in the Careers Library.
Entry involves conditional offers based on two application forms; an Oxford or Cambridge form and a UCAS form both of these must be submitted by 15th October, an interview and in some subjects extra aptitude tests and submitted written works.
Oxford has extra aptitude tests for English, History, Physics and Mathematics. These are generally held the first Wednesday in November. Please see each department websites within the Oxford University website for more information.
There are special arrangements for Organ, Choral and Instrumental awards, prospective candidates must see RCDM and have their forms completed with their college of preference and handed in to the Careers Office by 25th June 2008.
