Special Educational Needs at Charterhouse
The School's Educational Support department organises special tuition outside the normal curriculum in cases of need.
All new pupils have a screening test on arrival and some are called for further testing, which may lead to a full Assessment of Special Educational Needs. Any recommendations for further private tuition or assessment are arranged through the Special Needs Administrator.
In addition to the screening process, further investigation may be instigated at any time following expressions of concern by staff, parents or pupils.
Special Educational Needs is an established and integral part of the teacher training programme with up-to-date information about all SEN pupils regularly circulated to teachers.
