Organising a visit to Charterhouse

Parents come to tour the school nearly every day of the school year until Exeat in the Cricket Quarter, after which most Carthusians are involved in exams. We leave it up to parents whether to include their sons in their initial visit, but they are welcome to come as well.

Parents, usually in pairs, are shown the Boarding Houses, Sports Centre and Theatre by a current member of the school, and the Chapel, Library, Music School, Studio, DT Centre and other teaching areas by a member of staff. The tour concludes with a meeting with the Headmaster or Registrar.

On some Saturdays, a group of families are invited to a Headmaster’s Forum. The tour of the school is the same, but it concludes with a question and answer session for all, with the Headmaster and Registrar.

Girls and their parents are shown round the school by a girl pupil, visit Chetwynd Hall, and meet Mrs Swift, the Head of Girls.

To book a tour, please contact the Recorder, Mrs Margaret Mardall (01483 291585 or recorder@charterhouse.org.uk).
