The School's Educational Support department organises special tuition outside the normal curriculum in cases of need, at parents' expense.
All new pupils have a screening test on arrival and some are called for further testing, which may lead to a full Assessment of Special Educational Needs. The screening tests and further investigations are not charged separately, but the Assessment is normally at parents' expense. Any recommendations for further private tuition or assessment are arranged through the Special Needs Administrator – such further support is also at parents’ expense.
In addition the screening process, further investigation, initially at the School's expense, may be instigated at any time following expressions of concern by staff, parents or students. Again, if an Assessment is recommended it will be at parental expense.
Up-to-date information about all SEN students is regularly circulated to beaks. Assessment reports and digests are readily available to Brooke Hall. Special Educational Needs are an established and integral part of the Brooke Hall training programme.
