Carthusian Day 2017 took place on Saturday 27 May. Our Carthusian community of pupils, parents and staff were all in festive spirits, coming together for the afternoon, under glorious sunshine, to celebrate all that is great here at School. Highlights included a powerful and emotional performance of Wire Break on our Founder’s Court stage, a theatrical tribute to all Carthusians who have given their lives in the line of duty. All were also treated to the incredible breadth of musical talent on display throughout the day. The 32 x100m relay was an athletic sight to behold, and our CCF sections battled it out impressively across a range of competitions. The Family Tennis Tournament involved 64 players and raised £250 for the Fountain Centre at the Royal Surrey Cancer Centre. Rousing renditions of Handel’s Hallelujah Chorus and Parry’s Jerusalem closed the festivities beautifully, marking what we hope will become a Charterhouse tradition for years to come.
