Charterhouse greatly values its long-standing relationship with Hong Kong and the Asia-Pacific region. Nearly 10% of the School’s current pupils come from this part of the world, and, in Hong Kong alone, we have over 250 OCs. We are very keen to build on these connections, and to create a strong sense of community among our OCs and parents of pupils in this region.
How you can get involved
We would really like you to be involved in the growing number of activities that are being organised by Charterhouse’s Hong Kong Board.
Events – come along to the events taking place in Hong Kong for OCs and Charterhouse parents. The range of events is growing all the time – from informal drinks receptions to the annual Founder’s Dinner, and from a golf outing to an OC/Carthusian concert (planned for 2015).
Network – The Charterhouse community in Hong Kong and the Asia-Pacific region is strong and vibrant, and we are keen to provide numerous opportunities to meet, make connections and enjoy the company of others. Importantly, two-thirds of all OCs living in Hong Kong are aged under 30 (including many who are still at university), so we wish to give them a chance to network with more established OCs and parents of pupils.
Support – join a growing number of OCs and Charterhouse parents who are helping to support the School philanthropically, to achieve its goals for the future. The first successful initiative has been a Hong Kong Bursary, to fund a child with very limited financial means to come to Charterhouse for the full five years. All gifts to the Charterhouse Foundation (Hong Kong) Limited - in support of any project at the School - are tax-deductible for Hong Kong taxpayers.
News – stay in touch with news about OCs and parents of pupils in Hong Kong and the Asia-Pacific region, and with regular updates from the School.
