The School Shop

School Shop

Located in the centre of the Old School, the School Shop sells School uniform, books, stationery, toiletries and sports goods. It offers a full personal fitting out service for new pupils via a booking system in the summer holiday and runs personal accounts for all pupils and staff during term time. Pupils may purchase items in the School Shop with permission from their Housemasters/Tutors and charge these to their accounts.

The School Shop also stocks a wide range of Charterhouse memorabilia, including OC ties and cufflinks, all of which can be ordered via mail order, fax, telephone and email. If you order by email, please do not give your credit cards details simply include your telephone number and we will call you for this information. Contact details are at the bottom of this page.

All the proceeds from School Shop support bursaries for pupils at Charterhouse.

The School Shop is the official School outfitters and the sole supplier of the School uniform and sports wear. Parents of new pupils must make an appointment for outfitting. This usually takes approximately one hour.

Laptops can also be purchased through The School Laptop Scheme at the School Shop.

The Carthusian Collection

We often get Old Carthusians ringing or visiting our shop in order to replace an OC tie or jacket. Over the past year we have added some new products to our range and are delighted to be able to provide you with an online product list which features these and other exclusive 'Charterhouse' products.

Whether as a souvenir, birthday present or stocking filler, we hope that anyone who has been a pupil at Charterhouse, or worked at or visited the School, might find something of interest to buy.

Charterhouse Pink

The Charterhouse Quatercentenary Cuvee 'Pink' has a classic Pinot Noir nose of summer berry fruits with a lick of cream and on the palate there are full berry and rhubarb flavours.

This IWC Gold Medal award winning wine is fresh and clean making it a delightful aperitif wine or a perfect match for smoked salmon.

£25 a bottle (5% discound on a case of 12).

Purchases can only be made by ordering in advance and collecting in person from the Shop. Pupils may not purchase the wine nor collect it on behalf of others. The School Shop operates a 'Challenge 21' policy.

Profits from the sale of this wine will fund bursaries at the School.

The Chamber Orchestra CD

The Chamber Orchestra has just released a new CD of popular string music (programme below). It was recorded in Chapel over the last two years by a professional recording company, and John Parsons (director of Chamber Orchestra) feels that it is the finest orchestra he has had at the school in his 20 years as Head of Strings here.

The programme includes Benjamin Britten’s Simple Symphony, Holst’s St Paul’s Suite, a movement from Dvorák’s Serenade for Strings, Barber’s Adagio, and John Ireland’s Concertino Pastorale.

It is available from School Shop and by mail order, price £10.
