The Hunt Health Centre
The Hunt Health Centre, named after Lord Hunt of Fawley (S.1924) is an attractive and modern facility that encourages our boys and girls to seek help when they need it, and provide them with the most up-to-date medical care. It includes three double and four single bedrooms, treatment and consulting rooms, a smart inner-courtyard and a reception area. The building opened in October 2009.
School Shop
In October 2009 the School Shop moved from its temporary location to a newly refurbished original building in the centre of campus.
Beatson Garden
A generous legacy gift from the estate of RM Beatson (W44) provided the funds for the creation of a substantial garden facing the new Day Student House, Health Centre and Central Dining Room. In the autumn of 2009 it will bring new vitality to this previously underappreciated area that - with the ongoing renovation projects nearby - will be a hub of new activity.
The Modern Languages Block
This beautiful new building gathered all the modern language departments together under one roof when it opened in November 2007. The design is consistent with the current architecture in the historic centre of the campus. The building is constructed of solid stone and other natural materials, and contains state-of-the-art classrooms and equipment.
The Beveridge Centre
Completed in July of 2006, the wholly renovated Beveridge Centre houses the Higher Education and Careers, Business Studies and Economics departments. Originally the School workshop and later the Shop, it now shines in its new capacity.
The Library
Before After
In 2004 Charterhouse Library was completely refurbished thanks in part to a substantial bequest from Sir Ronald G Millar (P38). It boasts a collection of around 25,000 volumes, including the Carthusian and rare books collection, the Daniel Wray (Day Boy 1714-1718) collection, and over 55 newspapers, magazines and other periodicals.
