(I)GCSE Results 2015

Following record results in 2014, this year’s (I)GCSE results are the best ever recorded by the School. 53% of subjects taken were graded at A* and the figure for A* and A grades combined was 83%.

All of our Fifth Form  pupils (Year 11) take a minimum of nine (I)GCSEs: fourteen pupils this year gained straight A* grades and 56 achieved all A*s and As.

James Kazi, Deputy Headmaster (Academic), paid credit to the boys for their significant efforts and to the Charterhouse teachers for their support: “Building on last year’s superlative results, it is extremely heartening to see an even better outcome following the hard work and endeavour of the boys and their beaks. We are immensely proud of their achievements, impressive as they are. All of this augurs very well for the success of these pupils in their Specialist studies on either the Pre-U courses or the IB Diploma Programme.”

Specialists' Examination Results 2015

Charterhouse is again celebrating a very good set of examination results with 93% of Cambridge Pre-U examinations taken awarded Distinction or Merit grades. Fifty-two pupils achieved Distinctions (or their A level equivalent) in all subjects taken and fourteen achieved the equivalent of A level A* grades in all their subjects.

The IB Diploma Programme results were extremely strong, too: almost three-quarters of grades awarded were either 6s or 7s (a 7 being the highest) and almost 40% of the cohort achieved 40 points or more (typically seen as an average score for Oxbridge entry).

Delighted pupils from both courses of study are now celebrating securing their university places, including those pupils who have achieved their offers for Oxbridge entry, as well as to leading US universities such as UC Berkeley, NYU and University of Chicago and other top-flight international universities like Hong Kong and Bocconi.

Mr Richard Pleming, Headmaster, says that, “I am delighted for our boys and girls. Their results are a credit to them for all their hard work and also to the teaching staff for all their efforts in support of the pupils.”
