Housemaster's Statement
In Fletcherites, our aim is to create a friendly, supportive, secure and homely community in which every pupil is valued and appreciated. We seek to provide a framework within which our pupils have the opportunity to learn effectively, to develop their own interests, talents and intellectual curiosity and to achieve excellent qualifications which properly reflect their capabilities. Pupils are also encouraged to view Fletcherites as a place in which to relax and enjoy the social benefits of a close community.
Fletcherites allows a little more flexibility than other Houses should pupils wish to pursue interests outside the School’s varied and extensive range of activities, without hindering our ability to compete effectively with the other Houses in sporting and cultural competitions.
The structures and rules in place in Fletcherites are designed to allow the smooth running of the House in a peaceful and civilised manner, giving pupils the opportunity to develop respect for others, self-respect and maturity.
House Profile
Fletcherites (pictured below), was established as a sixth form House in 2010 and admits both girls and boys as day and boarding pupils. Day boys and girls enjoy the same teaching and extra-curricular facilities as the boarders, and they are able to stay at School until late in the evening if they wish. They also have the same chance to develop their sporting, cultural, spiritual and service interests.
Situated centrally next to seven of the boarding houses, central dining rooms and the Queen’s Sports Centre, Fletcherites offers excellent facilities for up to 54 pupils, including studies, changing rooms, butteries and dining room.
