Charterhouse is an 'All In' member school of ISCO (Independent School Careers Organisation) so all pupils automatically become members at the beginning of the Fifth Form, with the following advantages:
The first stage of the scheme is designed to help pupils make their choice of subjects for post-16 study. All pupils sit the Morrisby tests in September and this results in each pupil being provided with a personalised and objective Morrisby Psychometric Profile. This assessment explores a pupil’s personality and attributes, what their skills are, what they know and what interests or motivates them. Feedback sessions are organised for each pupil to discuss their individual profile with a trained ISCO careers adviser. All Housemasters and a number of academic staff have also been trained in the interpretation of the Morrisby profiles, so they can advise on subject choices.
Pupils and their parents can access the Morrisby profile via a secure personalised webspace on ISCO’s student website, Futurewise, which is a very useful resource for careers development, planning and information.
First and Second Year Specialist
At this stage, pupils may continue to use the Futurewise website and refer to their Morrisby profile as they consider future careers. The ISCO Student Scheme also offers an insight into the world of work through career workshops and subject experience days. These events can support pupils in the choice of Higher Education courses and entry into a career.
After school, up to the age of 23 years old
The ISCO Student Scheme services continue to be available to pupils upon leaving Charterhouse. At this stage, resources are available via Futurewise to help with the choice of an initial career, training or postgraduate studies.
