Pupils at Charterhouse have the use of a staggering range of first-class facilities.
There is a recently-refurbished (2004) Library which offers not only books and journals but also a range of electronic resources including DVDs.
Studio and the John Derry Technical Centre both provide facilities for creative work through paint, print-making, textiles, clay, photography, metal, plastic and graphic design.
There are a number of rooms in the School set aside exclusively for computing and information technology, and all 11 boarding houses have IT facilities.
Memorial Chapel is an inspiring building which seats over 800 people and was built as a memorial to those Old Carthusians (former pupils) who died in the Great (1914-1918) War. This makes it the largest War Memorial anywhere in England. The whole school gathers in Chapel for a short service on most days.
The Ralph Vaughan Williams (RVW) Music Centre and the Ben Travers Theatre (BTT) provide outstanding facilities for all kinds of music and drama.
The sporting facilities are truly impressive and include the Queen’s Sports Centre (QSC) with its indoor swimming pool, multi-use sports hall, climbing wall and a well-equipped fitness suite. The school also has its own athletics track as well as a nine-hole golf course and all weather pitches which are used mainly for hockey and tennis.
The 11 boarding houses have all been recently refurbished to the highest standards of comfort and convenience. Nearly all pupils have their own individual Study Bedrooms.
The 200 acres of grounds in which Charterhouse is set looks stunning in all seasons.
