Charterhouse has always had a thriving dramatic tradition. There are numerous opportunities for pupils to participate in the theatrical life of the School: either on stage, as part of the technical crew, front of house, directing or designing. During the academic year, there are in the region of seven or eight full scale major productions. Some are specific to year groups, others involve all years. Recent productions include Oh What A Lovely War, Shakespeare's Merchant of Venice and Midsummer Night's Dream.

In addition to the above, there is the practical exam work of the A level groups, house plays and pupil-directed productions.
The Drama Department also offer LAMDA Speech and Drama lessons as well as the opportunity to attain certificates from other awarding bodies.
It is an exciting time for Drama at Charterhouse at the moment, with new developments being discussed and the great tradition that the School already enjoys being taken to even greater heights.
