The Annie Marion Society was started in March 2004 and is open to every woman who works or lives at Charterhouse or who is married to somone working at the School.. The Society is named after Annie Marion, wife of William Haig Brown, the Headmaster who brought the School to Godalming in 1872. At the inaugural meeting Hilda Haig Brown, Annie Marion's granddaughter, talked of her grandmother's love of the School and shared memories from the 27 scrap books put together by Annie Marion about Charterhouse.
The Society meets twice a term and is a great opportunity to mix and socialize with a varied programme of speakers, activities and trips. Money raised is used to support a number of local charities including:
