Charity Events and Activities

Please use the links below for information on some recent charity acitivities at Charterhouse

Each academic year a pupil is appointed Head of Charities, and each House has its own representative on this committee. It is hoped that each House will adopt its own charity, and over the course of the year various House events will fundraise for these eleven different charities.

There are a number of regular charity activites.  Each Quarter Avenance provided a delicious soup and roll selection for the lunch for pupils and staff, a saving of approximately £600 from the usual budget.  This alternative meal is enjoyed by all members of the School  and the money raised is sent to Food Aid.

Mufti Day remains the easiest way to fund-raise at the School.  Approximately £2,000 each year is raised for the privilege of pupils and members of Brooke Hall wearing their own clothes for the day.

An on-going project at the Schools was set up by a member of staff. All used printer cartridges and old mobile phones are being recycled to raise money for Chase, a local hospice for terminally ill children. If any pupils, staff, parents or friends would like to contribute to this project, please contact jb@charterhouse.org.uk to organise collection of your used items.
