September 2006
The Royal Marine cadets braved the unseasonably warm weather out in the field in preparation for the Pringle Trophy competition (the highlight of the year).
Quick fire stances of section attacks, a command task, fire and control orders, patrolling, navigation, observation, drill and the obligatory bit of phys (giving JAFT a chance to show-off his natty blue instructor’s top) took up the day. Hostilities broke out at night with Blue group springing an ambush at the head of a valley on the ‘Reds’ – chance to fire off as many blanks and flares as possible.
The weekend was also opportunity for sections to catch-up on 40 section in the inter-section competition and this 42 and 45 duly did in the orienteering and assault course on the Sunday.
