Jack Marriott, the best swimmer from Charterhouse in many years, qualified for the National Age Group Championships by winning his two events in the Guildford Open Gala. In the 100m freestyle he improved his best time by almost a second to win in 53.61 seconds, and he won the 50m butterfly in 25.94 seconds. He is now ranked 3rd nationally for his age in the 50m butterfly, and 16th for the 100m freestyle.
Considering that he has limited time for training at Charterhouse, where he is currently sitting 4 A Levels, this is a remarkable achievement.
