Over eighty pupils, teachers and other members of the Charterhouse community sang in Handel’s Messiah on Sunday 9 March. A favourite piece of many, any performance of the Messiah draws a large crowd, and this occasion was no different.
Parents, pupils and other friends of the school enjoyed two hours of music, some of which they would have been already familiar, some of which might have been new to them. Mark Shepherd, Director of Music, chose some of the less well known choruses for this performance, which the choir certainly enjoyed learning and the audience evidently enjoyed hearing.
The soloists, including our own Jennifer Attia, who teaches French, brought their own talent and experience to the concert. This year’s oratorio concert was, as always, a success and an appropriate conclusion to a very impressive term of music.
