Prep School pupils who attended performances of Macbeth last term were asked to write about their experience of the play, and the best pieces were sent to be judged by the director, Julian Freeman.
He awarded the prize for the best essay to Adam Uddin of Cumnor House, Croydon.
The runners-up were Bella Brasnett of St Ronan's, Freddie Banks of Haslemere Prep, Shan Sashicumarr of Cumnor House and Jason Roy of St Edmund's, Hindhead.
