On the 6th November 2008 a Charterhouse team of three fifths, Henry Jolliffe (S), Rory McDougall (W), and Edward Mole (P) out-competed nine other schools to win the Surrey Region “local” Worldwise Quiz sponsored by the Geographical Association. The competition was held at Cranleigh School with the boys enduring eight rounds of questions over a two hour period. The rounds tested a wide range of knowledge including map interpretation, the use of fieldwork techniques and the recall of global events and geographical features. The boys’ knowledge and confidence was impressive and their domination the final round established them as clear cut winners.
