Shaftesbury Park Primary School

Charterhouse has a special relationship with Shaftesbury Park, a unique and wonderful primary school in South London. Amongst its many remarkable features, Shaftesbury Park runs a bilingual stream, with pupils studying in both French and English; it is also a UNICEF Rights Respecting School, and has a special focus on enterprise.

Each summer, 40 pupils from Shaftesbury Park attend a residential week at Charterhouse, hosted by our own pupils under the leadership of two teachers. Pupils take part in a range of outdoor and academic activities, and stay in Charterhouse’s boarding houses. The week is focussed on those pupils who may not be achieving their full, outstanding potential, and evidence from Shaftesbury Park demonstrates the strong, positive impact which the course has on pupil attainment and attendance.
