On Monday 24 and Tuesday 25 June, Year 12 pupils had two intensive days focussing on FutureU activities.
Day one centred on career skills including interview and super soft skills. Day two's mock assessment day was designed to simulate the graduate recruitment processes used by many companies.
Pupils received detailed feedback and guidance on their performance during the day. Speakers included James Darley, Founder and CEO of Transform Society, Andrew Wright, Founder and CEO of Oxford Life Skills and Marie Hélène Ferguson, Founder and CEO of The Cultural Intelligence Group.
We are grateful for the support from current parents who acted as interviewers in the mock interview session.
The pupils are lucky to have such great support and two days dedicated to skills required to build their future career.
All of the pupils I met were polite and respectful but also energetic and engaged. They were all without question, far more impressive than I was at their age.
Participants gained insight into the current trends and structures of graduate recruitment, including practical experience through simulated assessment days. Additionally, they learnt effective interview techniques, personal branding, communication skills, and strategies for career management and resilience.
