John Thornton (R30)

John Thornton was a British hurdler and competed in the 110 metres hurdles in the Olympic games of 1936, held in Berlin. Here he finished in 5th position. 

In the 1938 European Championships 110 metres hurdles he finished 4th. 

He served in El-Alamein during the war and was sadly killed in the Normandy landings.
