Careers Programme

During their time at Charterhouse, pupils have plenty of opportunity to research and explore potential career paths. They are supported by our dedicated team who raise awareness of the range of careers available to pupils through a series of career specific lectures, events and guest speakers covering a wide range of sectors including finance, the professional services, science and technology. Our fortnightly newsletter ensures that pupils and parents are kept fully informed of the opportunities available outside Charterhouse to gain valuable work experience and explore potential career paths as well as the wide range of regular speakers, events and workshops hosted each week at School.

Career Taster Workshops

All Removes (Year 10) attend a two-day Career Taster Workshop in June. These are presented by professional consultants who talk to pupils about a number of careers such as finance and technology and they learn essential skills such as personal branding and communication. They also take part in a business challenge and learn how to write a CV.

Morrisby Psychometric Tests

Fifth Form pupils (Year 11) sit the Morrisby Tests in September and the results of this online psychometric test helps them understand their aptitudes, personality and their most suitable career interests and preferences.

Career Networking Events

Sixth Form pupils are encouraged to attend our career networking events and workshops and attend our programme of career lectures.

We encourage all pupils to experience the world of work and develop essential skills through co-curricular activities such as clubs and societies, career insight days, work placements, paid employment and volunteering in the holidays.

We support pupils interested in taking a Gap Year and have information on a wide range of Gap activity providers and employees.

We work very closely with our Alumni network which allows pupils to meet and network with Old Carthusians and the wider community to gain valuable insights into relevant career interests through a variety of events throughout the year. Charterhouse Connect, our online community network, means that career support remains an integral part of the life of a pupil far beyond their time at the School.
