Over the past weeks there have been some extremely interesting topics discussed in the Biology department societies.
The Dissection Society
This society has cut its way through various tissues over the past few weeks including:
- Brains
- Eyes
- Frogs
- Pigeons
The Medics Society
There have been some interesting pupil presentations during this term including:
- Anastasiia’s presentation on the CRISPA gene editing, followed by a debate on its potential applications including designer babies.
- Kristen presented on the dangers of mobile phones, followed by a debate on age appropriate use of the technologies.
- Sima gave a talk on schizophrenia, followed by a discussion of how society and the health services deal with mental health issues.
