This week saw the launch of our support programme for Year 12 pupils interested in a career in Medicine
We were delighted to welcome back Samar Tantush from the University of Nottingham who spoke to those sixth form pupils who might be interested in a career in Medicine, Veterinary or Dentistry.
These careers have a particularly competitive and complex application process so the lecture and question session covered how to apply, academic requirements, work experience, personal statements, references, aptitude tests (UCAT and BMAT) and the interview process. It also set out the overview of a medical training. Pupils are now armed with the information to actively consider whether these courses are likely to be for them.
We will hold a parents and pupils meeting in the New Year to set out the detail of the process and the roles of pupil, parents and schools in this.
