Pupils visit Oxford University

Year 12 pupils attend a lecture at the Oxford Mathematical Institute

A group of our First Year Specialist (Year 12) mathematicians visited the Oxford Mathematical Institute for a lecture entitled The Power of Randomness by Professor Julia Wolf of Cambridge University. The lecture covered a range of interesting topics including game theory, internet security and patterns within the prime numbers.

The group also enjoyed a tour of Jesus College, providing them further insight into life as an undergraduate at Oxford University, as they consider forthcoming university applications.

It was a very successful trip and our thanks go to everyone involved in organising the day.

Photographs from the trip can be viewed below.
