Pupils participate in collaborative research project on ‘social decision-making’ with UCL

Dr Ganesh Balasubramanian, our Chair of Perception, set up a collaborative research project with UCL (Institute of Cognitive Neuroscience) where nearly 90 pupils across the 13-18 age groups participated in the research project on ‘social decision-making’ led by a team of four research scientists conducted by Dr Gabriele Chierchia.

The event took place on 13 February, lasting over three hours and the data generated by our pupils will contribute directly to UCL research. It has been a fantastic learning experience for our pupils, helping them to further raise their academic profile and further boost their personal statements and CVs.

This project was the result of a Perception lecture on 17 September by Prof Sarah-Jayne Blakemore, the Deputy Director of the Institute of Cognitive Neuroscience at UCL (See image below for profile). The lecture was twinned with a live book-signing of her newly released book ‘Inventing Ourselves’.

Dr Balasubramanian intends on setting up further academic collaborations with top universities where Perception members can get directly involved in and contribute to research projects in the future.
