The Biology Olympiad
We are delighted to report that our pupils were awarded two Gold medals, three Silver medals, and two Bronze medals, a further two Highly Commended and five Commended at the recent national Biology Olympiad.
Well done to all those who were selected to take part. The competition was open to both Year 12 and Year 13 groups so getting awards as Year 12 pupils is a great achievement.

About the Olympiad
The Biology Olympiad is a national competition that challenges and stimulates students with an interest in Biology to expand and extend their talents. It enables students to demonstrate their knowledge and to be suitably rewarded and publicly recognised by the award of medals, certificates and other prizes. In 2022, more than 10,000 of the strongest biologists from the First and Second year specialist years entered from over 700 schools from around the country. Only a portion of these receive medals and commendations. The BBO is also the first stage in selecting a team to represent the UK at the International Biology Olympiad.
