Read the latest Music Department update from Mr Sutton
Despite there being just three weeks to go until the end of term, the good news, of course, is that everybody that can is back on campus and we’re enjoying the days of face-to-face teaching, of physically seeing and talking to people and the sounds of instrumental playing is emanating from the Music Department once more. What a delight it is to be back at Charterhouse and we continue to work towards the days where the whole School is united again and we can celebrate a Summer Term as a full community once more.
In these final weeks, we hope to engage as many pupils in musical opportunities as possible, giving them the chance to express themselves through their talents once again. Chapel Choir will take to the stalls once more for Evensongs until the end of term, rehearsals for Les Miserables are up and running and there are plans afoot for many of our instrumentalists to showcase their work over lockdown. Credit must be paid, once again, to the huge amounts of time and effort showed by the pupils but also our wonderful Visiting Music Staff who have all worked collaboratively whilst at home, continuing musical traditions and maintaining spirits and standards.
As we welcome everyone back to school, we can also take the opportunity to celebrate the achievements of our pupils whilst engaging with Charterhouse@Home and Music@Home. We have produced two Virtual Concerts over the past few weeks; they can be viewed here:

Well done to all the pupils for enduring lockdown, and an extra thought to those still working @Home. We look forward to CQ21 and all that it may bring!
