Ollie Joins NYMT

We are delighted to announce that Ollie (Year 12) has been offered a role in the National Youth Musical Theatre’s upcoming production of 'Lightning Boy' by Charlie Turner and Liv Warden.

As part of his involvement with NYMT, Ollie will partake in two residentials in Kent through the Easter and early summer holidays, with shows at the Birmingham Hippodrome at the end of August.

In a School full of such talented pupils, we are always thrilled to hear of success stories. Many are the result of our wonderfully wide and inviting co-curricular programme, but pupils frequently apply their talents outside of the Charterhouse walls, spreading their wings and bringing joy to communities beyond our own.

Ollie has been a stalwart of the Music Department, gracing the concert stage in many a guise, as well as being a regular leading presence in the Ben Travers Theatre. He has taken to both stages throughout his Charterhouse career, but more recently, he has been expanding his musical theatre aspirations nationally.

Ollie is one of those pupils who has dedication, determination and enthusiasm in abundance. During his time at Charterhouse, he has always worked incredibly hard with a very mature understanding and learning of vocal technique. Amongst his many strengths is a real understanding of how to balance technique and drama, with a very natural understanding of song, text and delivery of this art form.

Many, many congratulations to Ollie! We wish you well over the summer.

If you can’t wait that long to see him perform, you can catch Ollie in 'The Addams Family' at the end of term.
