On Monday 30 September, West End star Laura Harrison delivered two spectacular Wicked masterclasses. Pupils from Year 9 through to Year 13 had the privilege of participating in these unforgettable sessions.
Laura, currently the Standby for Elphaba in the smash hit musical Wicked, which tells the untold story of the Witches of Oz, shared her expertise and passion, inspiring pupils with her insights into the world of professional theatre.
To conclude each session, Laura performed for the group, leaving everyone utterly spellbound. It was a magical experience that left a lasting impression on all who attended.
It was an honour to attend this incredible masterclass. Taking us through warm-up and audition techniques, we got to perform scenes from ‘Wicked’ and were treated to Laura's stunning voice. It was an inspiring experience to learn from someone so talented and such a well-known face in the West End.
Fleur (Year 13)
We were immensely fortunate to have Laura join us to deliver a masterclass - in every sense of the word. She is one of the greatest talents currently in the West End and her portrayal of Elphaba is staggering. To see the pupils faces when Laura performed ‘The Wizard & I’ was magical. It was clear that pupils, who are crazy about musical theatre, were inspired by her and we look forward to welcoming Laura back in the near future. I was so proud of our pupils who threw themselves into the masterclass with such energy and commitment - they realised what a wonderful opportunity this was. I thank Laura for her passion and spending her hard earned day off with us.
