Pupils raised £1,900 for the Back-Up Trust
On Sunday 10 June, a team of pupils from Robinites swam the distance of the English Channel and organised a bake sale to raise money for Back-Up, a charity that helps people with spinal cord injury trying to learn how to piece their lives back together after a traumatic spinal cord injury.
The team swam a total of 1,490 lengths of the School pool, equivalent to 37.25 km, and along with the proceeds from the bake sale raised, a total of £1,897.52.
Prior to the swim, we had a talk from Helen Cooke, one of the trustees on the charity, who spoke to us about what Back-Up do and how we are helping them. All in all, it was a really informative talk and everyone agreed that it was incredibly moving and powerful.
The day was a great success with lots of money being raised and everyone having a good time swimming.
