Adventure for our New Pupils and their Housemasters

From canoeing in the Black Mountains to hawking, mask making and drama activities the boys spent the weekend away with their House team

During the weekend of 22-24 September, all of the new Fourths (Year 9) were able to spend time away from School with their new Housemasters and House teams, getting to know each other better and try out some new activities.

The weather did its best to add to the occasion – bucketing down with rain for most of Saturday and early Sunday morning, but it couldn’t dampen enthusiasm, and a wide range of different events took place. Each House was following a different programme, and when the sunshine did arrive later on, it made for some great experiences in the fresh air, rounded off by food together in the evening.

From canoeing in Beaulieu and the Black Mountains to hawking, mask making and drama activities more locally, with a number of different visits to places of interest in London, Portsmouth or North Devon, it was a busy weekend. Time out of School to build friendships, get to know the House team and to generate the stories that will be recounted and wildly exaggerated in the coming year.
