Broadwater & Charterhouse in joint choral appearance for Godalming Mayor

The Broadwater-Charterhouse Educational Partnership continued in true harmony last Sunday, as singers from the two schools took part in their first joint performance.

This wonderful event was made even more special by a personal invitation from the new Mayor of Godalming, Cllr Penny Rivers, who asked the two school choirs to feature in her Civic Service. Held at St John’s Church, Farncombe on 23 June, this was a memorable occasion to mark the beginning of Penny’s Mayoral year. Alongside readings and hymns, the Broadwater-Charterhouse Choir performed John Rutter’s beautiful anthem, The Lord Bless You and Keep You, conducted by Mark Shepherd (Director of Music at Charterhouse).

The Broadwater-Charterhouse Educational Partnership brings together two of Godalming’s largest schools, educating some 1,300 teenagers between us. Recent activities have included joint staff development seminars, revision sessions for GCSE students, and a shadowing day for Year 11s considering their sixth-form options.
