Food Bank Collection

Our Staff Nurse, Mrs Helen Timney-Marshall sets up food bank at the Hunt Health Centre

Last week, Staff Nurse Helen Timney-Marshall started a food bank collection at the School’s Hunt Health Centre in conjunction with The Trussell Trust.  Last year the The Trussell Trust’s Foodbank Network provided 1,583,668 three-day emergency food supplies and support to UK people; of these, 577,618 went to children.  Their aim is to see more people helped out of crisis and fewer people needing food banks in the future.

Helen commented: “The Trussell Trust supports communities and churches to open foodbanks across the UK and I thought it would be a fantastic idea if our school community could help in any way we that can. Sadly, there are many people in our area who rely on food banks, and The Trussell trust provides three-day emergency food supplies to people in crisis.”

The Hunt Health Centre will be collecting food and various other much needed items to distribute to local food banks including Godalming, Haslemere and Farnham. Moving forward, a weekly email will be sent to all staff and pupils with an up-to-date list of much needed items.

Our thanks go to Helen for setting up such an excellent project and to staff and pupils for their support in advance. Our Staff Nurse, Mrs Helen Timney-Marshall sets up food bank at the Hunt Health Centre
