Gownboys Charity Challenge

Gownboys Charity Challenge

Gownboys pupils have raised over £2000 in a 12 hour charity challenge in aid of Shooting Star.

The boys voted for the charity and set up the timetable for the 12 hour cycle themselves. They completed the challenge on Saturday, cycling the full 12 hours from 1pm to 1am, covering 705km in total. This involved two exercise bikes in the common room being in constant use.

The person to beat was Mr Peacock who covered an impressive 34.5 km in just 50 minutes!

Other notable distances that were recorded during the challenge included:

  • Year 9 pupil, Thomas - 32. 06km
  • Year 12 pupil, Rupert - 35.8km
  • Year 12 pupil, Aiden - 41.2km

Not a bad effort at the end of a busy term!
