Miss Lamrabat's Thank You

Miss Lamrabat shares a farewell message as she leaves for University of Oxford after two years as Language Assistant at Charterhouse.

'My time at Charterhouse School as a Spanish Language Assistant and Resident Tutor has been a profoundly enriching experience, marking two of the most fulfilling years of my life. From the very first day, I was embraced by a community that with time felt like family. This nurturing environment, paired with the vibrant enthusiasm of the pupils and the unwavering support of my colleagues, made my experience here truly unforgettable.

'Living alone in the UK, I initially feared feelings of isolation. However, those anxieties were swiftly dispelled by the warmth extended by everyone at Charterhouse. The school offered me far more than a place to work; it became a true home. I felt integrated and valued, not merely as an employee but as a cherished member of a close-knit community.

'As a Spanish Language Assistant, I had the privilege of working with dedicated and passionate pupils. Their enthusiasm was contagious, inspiring me to continually refine my teaching methods and strive for excellence. Additionally, my role as a Resident Tutor in Sutton allowed me to mentor and support pupils outside the classroom. These experiences were deeply rewarding, as I had the opportunity to guide and encourage the pupils in both their academic and personal lives.

'My involvement as a Civilian Instructor for the RAF added a unique dimension to my time at Charterhouse. This role enabled me to develop a deeper understanding of discipline, teamwork, and leadership alongside the cadets. The diverse experiences I gained in this role enriched my perspective on education and further solidified my passion for teaching.

'Reflecting on my time at Charterhouse, I am filled with immense gratitude for the myriad opportunities I was given. The experiences I’ve had, the lessons I’ve learned, and the friendships I’ve formed will remain with me forever. I cherish the wonderful memories of the pupils' passion, the constant hard work of my colleagues, the legendary Brooke Hall dinners, the excitement of speaking competitions, the CCF activities, the school trips, and the creativity of Artifex. I thank God for all these gifts and my parents for supporting my adventure from Spain.

'As I prepare to embark on the next chapter of my journey at the University of Oxford to become a qualified teacher of Modern Languages, I do so with a heavy heart. Leaving Charterhouse is bittersweet. I will dearly miss each part of it.

'From the bottom of my heart, I wish the very best to Charterhouse School. The memories and experiences I take with me will always hold a special place in my heart, and I am deeply grateful for the time I have spent here.'
