World Environment Day

World Environment Day

 Celebrated at Charterhouse

World Environment Day on Tuesday 5 June provided pupils with a further opportunity to reflect on the world around us, and how we can contribute positively to it.

The 2018 theme for this important international date was ‘Beat Plastic Pollution’. Our dedicated Library staff put together a display of books and interesting information about the difference we can all make, reducing our personal plastic usage to make a global impact.

Recently, all Fourths (Year 9) at Charterhouse have been planting trees and learning about climate change as part of their Citizenship programme. You can read more about their experiences here. The Charterhouse Chicken & Bee Society continues to thrive, too.

Finally, World Environment Day gave us all an extra chance to thank the amazing Charterhouse Grounds Department for all their incredible work. The Charterhouse campus must be one of the most beautiful school sites in the world; Mr Lee Marshallsay and his team do amazing work, year-round, to keep it so special.
