Year 9 Geography trip

Year 9 Geography trip

On Monday 29 April, our Year 9 pupils visited East London and the Olympic Park

A report by Kevin Brown, Teacher of Geography

Another year passes since the 2012 Olympic Games in London, however, the legacy of this two-week sporting extravaganza continues to influence the ever-changing faces of Stratford and the surrounding areas.

Investigating the industrial past of this multi-cultural and multifaceted part of London is interesting to both geographers and historians alike and being able to show Year 9 pupils a first-hand evidence of regeneration in action gives teaching and learning about this unique topic a whole new perspective.

Another great day was had outside the classroom, although as coined on the day, “In Geography, the world is our classroom!”
