UAE Netball Tour

Over half term, 11 girls and three members of staff travelled to the UAE for some mid-season netball training. The girls worked hard over the course of the week, training in the hot climate, playing local teams and also taking part in a tournament organised by Abu Dhabi Netball.

The matches were challenging but the results didn't reflect the girls’ performance. They improved considerably over the week and became a very cohesive unit by the end.

Between matches and training, the girls enjoyed some cultural visits including a tour of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque. They also went dune bashing in the desert, camel riding and had supper in a Bedouin camp. All round, it was a wonderful tour. Thanks go to Mrs Jani Lambeth and Miss Ali Strutt who gave up their half term to attend the trip.

Inter-House Girls' Football

It was a competitive House tournament, which saw all Houses entering two teams. The standard of football was brilliant. The girls demonstrated just how much they had improved over the course of this year. It was also wonderful to see girls who usually participate in alternative sports join in. The matches were very close however, at the end of the afternoon second place went to Sutton and first place went to Chetwynd. Well done girls.

Fives

It has been a successful term for the fives teams and the week prior to half term was no different. The U18A team competed in their open qualifying matches and secured a well-deserved win. Following this success, the U15A and U14A teams competed in two friendly matches against Sunningdale the next day. Both very competitive matches that saw Charterhouse come out on top in the U15 match and fall narrowly behind in the U14 fixture. A great effort. We wish them the best of luck in their upcoming matches.

Basketball

On Tuesday 11 February, the U16 and U18 teams competed in two friendly fixtures away against Bradfield College. The boys competed admirably with the U16 team securing a very convincing victory (51-33) over tough opponents.

Unfortunately, despite a valiant effort the U18 side narrowly missed out as the game finished 54-55. However, both matches were great displays of talent and resilience.
