Charterhouse success at Bisley

Four Charterhouse pupils stay on at Bisley to shoot in the 150 National Rifle Association Imperial Meeting

Charlie Reay (R) came 8th overall in the CCRS Cadet Imperial, winning one silver and two bronze medals and a special badge for his achievements.

James Ingham (S) came 4th overall in his cohort in the CCRS sponsored Imperial, and is now primed and ready for his trip to Jersey to represent the UK in competitions against the Channel Island teams later in August.

Henry Waldern (V) missed out on going through to Queens 2 by just one point! A great effort none-the-less. Alex Zu Sayn-Wittgenstein-Sayn (G) continued to improve with the new school rifle and turned in some great scores. Both these boys were invited by Mark Garnier (OC and Conservative MP for Herefordshire) to represent the House of Commons against the Lords on the final Friday of the Imperial meeting in the Visianagram Competition.

Thrilled to be part of such an exciting competition, Henry shot his socks off and won, and Alex came a very close second. Their scores enabled the Commons to beat the Lords again. Prizes were awarded by Lt Col Tony Clayton (an Old Carthusian Beak, retired Charterhouse CCF Contingent Commander and Master of Shooting when the School last won the Ashburton) who will be retiring from NRA shooting later this year.

Many thanks for Henry's father for providing the photos from the day, including the one below which shows the results board of the House of Command versus the House of Lords: Visianagram Competitions 2019.
