Eden Heads to Chelsea FC!

We’re incredibly proud to share the exciting news that Eden, a Fourth (Year 9), will be leaving School to take the next big step in his footballing journey – with Chelsea Football Club.

Eden, who currently plays for Chelsea’s U14 team, will officially move in September. He’ll be based at the club full-time and will continue his academic studies at Parkside School, just next door. Most importantly, he’s looking forward to spending more time with friends he’s known for years – and sharing lessons with them too.

A gifted right winger, Eden has always had a passion for football. “My dad got me into football,” he says, “and my mum has sacrificed a lot to enable me to play.” That support has paid off – Eden recently made his debut with the Chelsea U16s in a thrilling 3-3 draw against Southampton, where he won a penalty to level the score.

Since joining Charterhouse, Eden has been a standout player in our football programme, playing a key role for the U15As during their impressive ISFA National Cup run to the quarter-finals. Director of Football Jo Williams says:

It has been a pleasure to have Eden be a part of our football programme here at Charterhouse. He is a special talent and has shown that many times this year on the pitch. He has been a great role model for others in the team, and we all wish him the very best of luck in his football journey.

Eden has made the most of his time here, both on and off the pitch. “I’ve enjoyed all my lessons and everything at Charterhouse,” he says. He especially loved playing on Big Ground – “At first it felt massive, but now it just feels natural.”

Looking ahead, Eden is excited about the opportunities that come with being at Chelsea: learning from older players, working with top coaches and nutritionists, and maybe even meeting members of the first team.

Eden's dream is to become a professional footballer and make his family proud. We’ll certainly be cheering him on every step of the way.

Good luck, Eden – we’ll miss you!
