Long Range Shooting Success

Long Range Shooting Success

The School Shooting Team competed at the English Schools Long Range Challenge last Saturday. Dedicated practice and training led to a fantastic performance on a pleasant (but cold!) afternoon.

The competition attracted 160 pupils from 16 different schools. Charterhouse A Senior Pair, Kitty (Year 12) and Hermine (Year 12) took an impressive first place in the Senior Pairs competition scoring 389.17 out of a possible 400.40. The girls also triumphed in the Senior Fours, joined by Freddie and Henry (Year 12) earning themselves another magnificent first place, scoring 773.27 out of 800.80. Congratulations to Kitty, Hermine and Freddie for gaining Top 10 places as individuals.

Well done to you all! this was a brilliant result, some fantastic shooting from the Seniors, and very good coaching from within the Team, very well led by Hermione and Freddie. Alasdair and Charlotte (Junior Pairs ‘B)  you put in some excellent scores for your first attempt at long range small-bore shooting and if you keep on training/practicing, as I am sure you will,  you will continue to climb your way up the scoreboard.

VJ Burrell-Taylor MBE, Head of Shooting

We wish our marksmen and -women continued success at the British Schools Small-Bore Rifle Association (BSSRA) Winter Open on Saturday 9 December.
