Our First XI have advanced to the final of the U18 Tier 2 National competition and will compete at the Olympic Park towards the end of April.
The boys travelled to Kingswood in Bath for the semi-final, where the quality of hockey on display was world-class. They took an early 1-0 lead and looked on top for the majority of the first half, but a late equaliser saw both teams head into half-time at 1-1.
The start of the second half had a fast pace, and the hockey was the best it’s been all season, with Charterhouse stepping up a level and scoring three outstanding team goals, putting us 4-1 to the good. The team played with great quality and control, going on to score a late fifth goal, before two quick responses from Kingswood.
However, this late attempt at a comeback was not enough, with the game ending 5-3 to Charterhouse in what can be described as an outstanding schoolboy hockey match.
The 1st XI have been fantastic all season, displaying high quality both on and off the pitch, and fully deserve their place in the final.
