Major Sports

For each of the three Quarters (school terms), there is a major sport. For boys they are football (Oration Quarter), hockey (Long Quarter) and cricket (Cricket Quarter). In the Oration and Long Quarters, Under School boys (Years 9 - 11) are expected to play the major sport of the term, unless alternatives are agreed with the masters of each respective year group. For girls, the major sports played in the winter are hockey, lacrosse, football and netball, and tennis and athletics in the summer. As Specialists (Years 12 and 13), both boys and girls have access to the school gym in the Queen’s Sport Centre and can attend classes such as spinning and yoga.
