Sutton
Founded in 2019, Sutton is named after Thomas Sutton, the founder of Charterhouse.
Located in one of the original buildings at the heart of the School, Sutton combines the splendour of Victorian Gothic architecture with a newly refurbished, welcoming, and contemporary interior. The ‘private side’ was originally designed by William Haig Brown, the first Headmaster of Charterhouse in Godalming, when the School moved from London in 1872.
The House forms part of Founder’s Court and is adjacent to the central café, Oak, in Scholar’s Court, where the girls and boys in ‘Old School’ have their meals.
