Sixth Form Admissions
Around 80 pupils join the Sixth Form (known as 'Specialists') each year, either as a boarder or as a day pupil. Competition for places is strong. As a guide, we would expect successful candidates to gain a high proportion of A*s and As in (I)GCSE or equivalent, although the offers we make are unconditional. We welcome candidates with particular interests and talents in art, drama, music, sport and many other fields.
Admission is by competitive examination and interview. Candidates are assessed at Charterhouse in early November and offers of places are made on 1 December. Academic, Art, Music, Sport Scholarships and Awards also take place in November.
Applications for the Sixth Form can be submitted from the start of the Summer Term of Year 10, up until the beginning of October in Year 11 (the year before entry). Confidential reports from candidates' current schools are requested as part of the process so it is essential that candidates inform them of their application.
We require candidates for whom English is not their first language to submit a UKiset test result prior to registration.
