Clubs & Societies

Charterhouse boasts an extraordinary array of clubs and societies for every pupil to get involved in  through our Floreat     programme, named after the School song Carmen Carthusianum and meaning “may it flourish”.

Floreat reflects our belief that learning should extend far beyond the classroom, from Baking to Filmmaking, Scottish Dancing to Aeronautics.

You will have the chance to experience both the familiar and the unexpected, encouraging you to try new things, follow your interests and develop a lifelong love of learning.

Every club and society is supported by one of our passionate teachers; however, you are encouraged to take the lead - especially in the Sixth Form. You can set up and run your own societies, explore what matters to you, and share your interests with others, including younger pupils.

In the Under School (Years 9–11), you’ll take part in at least one regular cultural activity, though most pupils choose to do much more. As you move into the Sixth Form, the programme expands, giving you the freedom to shape your own experience, create new groups, and play a leading role in the life of the School.

Attending Dissection Society has been a fantastic experience. It's the perfect balance of fun, education and an amazing way to learn about different anatomical structures.

Since I took over leadership of the society, I've benefitted from helping younger pupils get hands-on experience and hope others enjoy it as much as I do
